Hello form sunny Antigua!
The crew of Moonstone is busy preparing the boat for our offshore passage. Preparations aren’t the most glamorous part of any trip, but necessary. We are making sure that all is in working order, everything we are bringing with us is securely stored, that we aren’t forgetting anything important, and everyone knows where everything is. Our skipper is thorough and we are grateful for all he is doing to ensure a safe and enjoyable passage.
The last few days were full of pulling stuff out of lockers, reviewing safety equipment, making sure that everyone knows where the life safety equipment is located. We have begun provisioning and are very grateful for the help of Flip, who is an amazing cook and has prepared some delicious meals for us. I can’t wait to tell you about those amazing meals in future updates.
We have a few items that we are waiting on from the mainland, and we are experiencing the full effects of “Island Time”. Fingers crossed that all will arrive on Tuesday.
While we wait, here is a photo of our rig check from yesterday afternoon. The views from the top of the mast are amazing!
