After a quick stop in Flores we are back on the water. Headed to Fayel and the port city of Horta. Although we didn’t get to spend much time on the island we did get to scrub some salt off the boat, and thankfully, ourselves. Hot showers were most welcome.
We learned about the Cagarro birds or as the locals call them- “Kazoo” birds which are native to the island which come out at night.
The port of Lajes is still recovering from a devastating hurricane in 2019 but the people haven’t lost their spirit, humor or hospitality.
